Paul M. Wangenheim, MD, FACC
Dr. Paul Wangenheim joined Consultants In Cardiology in 1987. A preeminent clinician, Dr. Wangenheim is highly respected for his humanistic approach to bedside evaluation and cardiovascular management, including diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. He was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended Montclair State University and attended New Jersey Medical School – University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UMDNJ, where he also served as chief resident. He trained in cardiology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and was one of the first New Jersey fellows to train in Interventional Cardiology (coronary angioplasty) at that time. He joined Consultants In Cardiology after completing his fellowship, and he has been a vital force behind the success of that practice.
Dr. Wangenheim is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Adult Echocardiography. He also holds a PhD in Medical Humanities and has a masters degree in Medical Ethics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and belongs to numerous professional societies. He is the member of CIC designated to interpret echocardiograms, an imaging technique that uses ultrasonic waves to visualize the internal structures of the heart.
