| Donald Rothfeld, MD, FACC Board Certification in Internal Medicine Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease Founder of the Practice 1976 Graduated Jefferson Medical College and completed his cardiovascular fellowship at New York Medical College. Served in the USNR as a director of CCU in San Diego. Served as Director of Pediatric Cardiology at Newark Beth Israel as well as Director of the Cardiac Non-Invasive Laboratory at Newark Beth Israel. He was co director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Newark Beth Israel and the YMCA of New Jersey. Was an assistant professor at UMDNJ. Maintains a busy office practice in Millburn. Dr. Rothfeld is an avid art collector. SPECIALTIES:
John Ciccone, MD, FACC Board Certification in Internal Medicine Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease A graduate of UMDNJ, he went on to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Newark Beth Israel Med Center. Was appointed Chief Resident. Trained additionally as a Research Associate publishing more then 30 articles and was the first fellow in Interventional Cardiology in NJ. Medical director of the Invasive Cardiovascular Lab at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ. Maintains a busy office practice in general and preventive cardiology as well as performing interventional procedures. Was instrumental in developing CIC’s Preventive Care Center. Dr. Ciccone's favorite pastimes are traveling and cooking. SPECIALTIES:
Paul Wangenheim, MD, FACC Board Certification in Internal Medicine Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease National Board of Echocardiography-Diplomat in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Completed his medical degree at UMDNJ and was appointed Chief Resident at UMDNJ. His cardiology fellowship was at Newark Beth Israel Med Center. Is Medical Director of the Echocardiography Lab at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Performs interventional procedures including pacemaker insertions. Maintains a busy office practice and directs the non-invasive testing area at CIC. Dr. Wangenheim enjoys golfing. SPECIALTIES:
Jacqueline Schwanwede, MD, FACC Board Certification in Internal Medicine Board Certification Cardiovascular Disease Board Certification Nuclear Cardiology Received her Medical Degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and served her internship and residency at St. Luke’s, New York, NY. She performed her cardiology fellowship at St. Luke’s and her Interventional Cardiology Fellow at Newark Beth Israel. Maintains a busy office practice specializing in high-risk pregnancy and woman’s cardiac healthcare as well as nuclear cardiology. Interprets the pharmacological and nuclear stress testing done in CIC’ s testing area. Performs interventional procedures. Dr. Schwanwede is a mother of three. SPECIALTIES:
Mark Goldberg, MD, FACC Board Certification Internal Medicine Board Certification Cardiovascular Disease Graduated NYU and received his medical degree from UMDNJ. Was Chief Medical Resident at NBIMC/UMDNJ. Completed his cardiology fellowship at UMDNJ and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at New Beth Israel Med Center. Was assistant Director of the Cardiac Transplant Program at Newark Beth Israel Med Center. Maintains a busy office practice as well as performing interventional procedures. Dr. Goldberg is the father of 3 boys. Sports is his pastime. SPECIALTIES:
Edward Harback, MD, FACC Board Certification Internal Medicine Board Certification Cardiovascular Disease Board Certification Nuclear Cardiology Completed his medical degree at UMDNJ and his cardiology fellowship at Saint Barnabas Med Center and UMDNJ. Prior training was in biomedical and electrical engineering. Maintains an office practice. Is the Radiation Safety Officer for CIC and interprets the pharmacological and nuclear stress testing in CIC’s testing area. Performs cardiac catheterization and Transesophageal Echocardiography. | Nurse Practitioners Consultants In Cardiology has two Nurse Practitioners on staff who collaborate with the doctors in all aspects of the patients cardiac care. A Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse who has had advanced educational and clinical training in a health care specialty field. Both Nurse Practitioners on the CIC staff are specialized in cardiology and their education, knowledge and training are a valued asset in managing the patient’s health care. Our Nurse Practitioners are another important part of the CIC health team. |

Holistic Nursing Megan McNamara, RN, HNC, has practiced the Art and Science of Nursing for nearly 30 years and is certified by The American Holistic Nursing Association in the practice of Holistic Nursing since 1999. She has intuitively known that we are embodied spirits, that is "we are not humans on a spiritual path, rather we are spirits on a human path". This is the center from which Megan has cared for her Critical Care, Open Heart Surgical patients. |

Our Nursing Staff Consultants In Cardiology has experienced cardiac Registered Nurses on staff and available during office hours to answer questions. The nurses handle inquiries regarding cardiac symptoms, lab results, test results and medications including Coumadin. Our Registered Nurses are caring, knowledgeable team members who work in coordination with the Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. |
